Good News - Bad News - Keenyn Walker

Post by Nomads44 on Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:36 am

I see he had a 5-5 day yesterday. That is great. The problem is, this early in the season, that only brought him up to .313. He must have started out horribly. A 5-5 day this early would normally raise someone up near .450-.500, I'd think.

So nothing to get excited about yet, but nice to see nonetheless.

I hope he can play some outfield. Was he also a pass catcher? Hope he runs good routes.

Any word on how Mitchell is doing?

STRIKING OUT would be my guess.

Much too early to be meaningful.

He must have had a couple of good games, now up to .313, 10-32. Apparently retained his speed as he has two triples already. Odd thing, he has 10 walks in 42 plate appearances. Can't imagine opposing pitchers are trying to avoid him. Must have a good eye and patience at the plate.

I still have a good feeling about Mitchell. I saw that college world series where he dominated and he seemed like a good bet. I'm holding out hope he's in the bigs by 2014.

Jay, were you talking about Keenyn Walker or Jared Mitchell? Interesting they both got hot and brought average up to .313 about the same time.

I was referring to Mitchell. He must have had another good game as his BA is up to .343 at Birmingham. Tyler Kuhn is making a run at Charlotte at .349. If Gordo goes to the minors, it might be down to Birmingham.

Jim, where is Keenyn Walker? I don't see him on the Charlotte or Birmingham roster.

Kannapolis in the Class A Sally League.

Now down to .267-.298-.356. 4 SB, but 2 CS.

Good thing he had his 5-5 game. He must have been below .100 before that.
