10K cap on SALT.   What is your SALT intake?  12K?

So 2K loss in the 22% bracket is $880 more in taxes you have to pay

Now cap RETax at 2% of FMV.  Bet the savings is greater than $880.  I know my savings could be as high as 4K

And yes, even Tommy can see that makes my house worth more

Out SALT is around $20,000, so we lose about $10,000 in SALT deductions.  Our taxes are about $13,000, plus two-incomes worth of state income taxes.

Eyeballed some houses in the 60004 on zillow

    a $500K house built in 1980 is $11,600

    a $600k house built in 2007 is paying $16,600

So the little household apparently isn't as little as we have been lead to believe.

There remaining $7K suggest a pair of W2's pushing 100K a piece.  Or about 3 times the socalled living wage for both

    Congratulations Blondy!!!!!!

According to Bernie and Hillary and Obama you qualify as rich!!!!!!

Now pay your fair share with a smile like your buddy RobZ

I don't live in 60004.  That would be Arlington Heights.  And if we made $200,000/year, we would be getting a tax cut.  My husband works in a machine shop, and I'm a part-time (25 hours/week) property manager.

Funny, but I actually do pay my taxes with a smile. I'm extremely fortunate and am thankful every day for it.

I'd be smiling too if I made RobZ money and if I had Mrs. RobZ medical insurance.  Will your three boys be in college at the same time?

I don't make as much as wifey.  She kicks ass AND has great insurance.  I work when it's convenient for about 4 to 6 hrs a day, but I do all shopping, cooking, and most cleaning.  I won't have three in school at the same time unless my oldest takes more than five years and my middle son takes more than four.  I'm hoping my oldest plays ball in school and gets some financial help.  My middle son might get some academic assistance.  Too early to tell with my youngest, but he's the brightest of the three.  He's a competitive Rubik's cuber and does very well at competitions.  Maybe we can monetize that.
