How Intimidating is this Lineup ?

Wonder what opposing pitchers are thinking when they see this lineup card.

The Sox released Casey Gillespie, since he is hitting .214 in the minors.  So what about
L. Garcia .184
Engel .148
Narvaez .138

How can I be so rude

How good is it to see someone like THRyan get back to the board.  Welcome back.  Hope you stay awhile for some fun loving White Sox talk

Now to seriously answer your question

Gillespie was on the 40 man so this opens a spot.  Kopech is not on the 40 man and is being talked up in the press.  Sox pitching sucks.  The new age Nolan Ryan might just be days away

Yeah, the Sox unfortunately have a bushelful of guys that could be let loose

without blinking an eye.  At Charlotte, along with Gillaspie (age 25), there is:

- Jake Elmore (age 31)-  .136

- Matt Skole (age 28)  - .220

- Juan Perez (age 26) - .217

- Ryan Cordell (age 26) - .132

- Charlie Tilson (age 25) - .211

What may make Gillaspie more dispensable than the ones above is that he is a
1bman/DH which are easy spots to fill and guys have to hit to justify their existence.

Casey also hit a meager .215-ish in AAA last year. Which makes his bad start this
year look less like a mere early season slump and more like a permanent condition.

I see Ryder Liriano is hitting 348 with a 1000+ OPS

Only 25 at bats, so he might be hurt

Poor guy.  Bad health and bad timing are just killing his career

That guy again.  Saw him in a couple Spring Training Angel broadcasts.  For sure, bad luck and bad health have worked against him.  But he also has a nasty habit of coming up short every time he gets a shot at impressing his big league employers.  Like San Diego (.555 OPS), Milwaukee (.515 Spring OPS before getting hurt), the Sox last year (.606 OPS Spring Training, .646 OPS regular season) and once more the Angels (514 Spring OPS).
He's 26 and really has only one really good season (882 OPS as a 20 year old in Low A) and another decent one (843 as a 24 year old in AAA).  That said, the Sox major league and AAA rosters are filled with guys whose resumes are nearly as checkered.
