White Sox signed LHP Hector Santiago to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Santiago posted an ugly 5.63 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 51/31 K/BB ratio across 70 1/3 innings (14 starts, one relief appearance) with the Twins in 2017 while fighting back and shoulder injuries. The veteran left-hander was originally drafted by the White Sox back in 2006, so this is a homecoming of sorts. He could eat some innings for the club in 2018 while some of their younger starters get more seasoning in the minors. Santiago was an All-Star with the Angels in 2015. >>

Didn't seem that long ago that Hector was this promising but erratic young guy trying to establish himself in the Sox rotation.  His big contribution to Sox was being the key piece in a trade that brought in Adam Eaton.  Of course Eaton got turned into Lucas Gioloto, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning.

Was decent for two years with the Angels (3.60-ish ERA), however, last couple years have been a rough go. Wish him luck but this re-union may be short-lived, probably just until Rodon is ready to come back.
