    Dilo Contest 2017

Post by alohafri on Sat Feb 25, 2017 5:05 pm

It's time for the 2017 Dilo Contest. To win either a dollar or a small White Sox token memorabilia, all you have to do is come closest to correctly guessing the number of wins the White Sox finish the season with. This year's tie breaker is the number of walks Tim Anderson finishes the season with.

Kinda rooting for that one, Jim. That will surely snag the # 1, # 31, # 61 picks in 2018 !!

The KARK sees a tale of two seasons, the first half and the second half.

Now its tough to think how the White Sox can increase upon their 2016 win total after trading away one of the top five pitchers in all of baseball and their sbermetric all star for a bunch of kids that are not on the Opening Day roster.

That said, dumping Ventura and having guys in contract years and guys wanting to redeem themselves, will in my not so humbe opinion, make up a lot of slack.  The think the White Sox, in typical White Sox fashion, can hover just below 500 to the point that the sane give up, but its never bad enough to put out the glimmer of hope.

Therefore, 39-45 in the first half.

Lord knows what happens in the 2nd and if the White Sox will be willing and or able to trade Quintana and Frazier and Robertson and Cabrera and a few others.

My guess is that Quintana and Robertson will not be traded.  That and the addition of some top prospects will give the White Sox a winning 2nd half.  I say 41-37

So put the KARK down for 80 wins.  Anderson will triple his walks and end up with 39

The Sox will win 59 games and Anderson will walk twice. FIE on you who doubt my power!

Therefore, 39-45 in the first half.

    *****************************

Monday July 3rd, I wake up and see OUR White Sox are 36-45.  Normally I would be damn proud of how close I was.  But why the hell did I have 84 first half games?!?!?!

There are 87 games b4 the all-Star break.  And you don't have to be a CPA with a 135IQ to realize 81 is a true half season.  I think I was shooting for the All-Star break.

Anyway, sweep the A's and the KARK nails it yet again  tongue tongue tongue
