this is how sad the White Sox are

Post by Guest on Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:51 pm

The starting rotation is considered teh White sox strength. Lead by the has been Jake Peavy and ending with the never will be Phil Humber. In the middle, two career 500 pitchers and a converted reliever who is considered an arm injury waiting to happen.

But all these clowns will step up to make people forget that mark buehrle is no longer around

    LMAO

UNFORTUNATELY, IT APPEARS THAT ANY DISCUSSION ABOUT BUEHRLE LEAVING AND THE PANIC CONTRACT TO DANKS WAS DONE MOSTLY ON THE AOL BOARD.

THIS BOARD REALLY DOESN'T HAVE MUCH DISCUSSION PRIOR TO 2012

ANYWAY, LOOKS LIKE THE KARK WAS 79% CORRECT WITH THE ABOVE STATEMENT MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE 2012 SEASON.

THE CONVERTED RELIEVER WAS CHRIS SALE AND HE DID STEP UP.  PHIL HUMBER DID THROW A PERFECT GAME BEFORE FALLING INTO THE ABYSS.

PEAVY AND THE 2 500 PITCHERS, DANKS AND FLOYD, TURNED OUT TO BE THE DISAPPOINTMENTS THE KARK PREDICTED THEY WOULD BE

SO YES, THE WATCHING FANS WERE AWARE OF THE TRUE SCORE.  UNLIKE A CERTAIN CALIFORNIAN WITH A CALCULATER WHO LIKES TO RE-WRITE HISTORY INSTEAD DOING ACTUAL RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS.

BECAUSE IF HE ACTUALLY DID RESEARCH, HE WOULDN'T MAKE RETARDED CLAIMS ABOUT HOW NATHAN EOVOLDI IS WERE JAKE ARRIETA WAS AT AGE 26.  UNLIKE EOVOLDI, JAKE ARRIETA WAS NOT UNDER GOING TOMMY JOHN SURGERY FOR A SECOND TIME.

MAYBE IF THE CALIFORNIA TERM PAPER WRITER TRIED TO VERIFY HIS THEORIES INSTEAD OF ASSUMING HE KNOWS IT ALL, HE WOULD SEE THAT AT PRESENT, NATHAN EOVOLDI IS LESS THAN DEREK HOLLAND.

SO ROGER, FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOUR LECTURES.  YOU ARE A GOD DAMN FRAUD

Before you dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back, the "converted reliever" (Sale) and Peavy were hardly "clowns" that year. They each had 200 + IP and both were in top 10 in ERA for all AL starters. Nor was Floyd a "disappointment" unless you believed Coach Al in Cal who thought Floyd was a star.  He was the average pitcher that most everyone else thought and finished 25th overall in ERA. Of course Danks was a disappointment but that's because he nursed an arm injury, then went for surgery and not for the reasons that you gave (just a .500 pitcher). You did get Humber right though, congratulations.

In 2012 Sox's starting pitching was a strength (3rd best rotation in the AL). Team had a 3 game lead with only 15 games to go, until they lost 10 of the next 12.  That wasn't because the "clown" starters blew up but because they only scored 22 runs in those 10 losses.

Eovoldi had his first TJ surgery 11 years ago when he was a Jr in HS. That far apart shouldn't mean that the 2nd TJ will weaken a guy who still may have lingering effects from a first TJ surgery only a couple years earlier.  Those are usually the guys who are finished. The normal recovery rate from TJ's is 75%.
Of course, "at present" Eovoldi is less than Holland.  But so what as Sox  are focused on 2019 and beyond ?  They should be looking for more guys who can help them in those years.

"clowns" (Peavy and Sale) did step up to make the Sox competitive that year.  And Floyd was what he always was - an average pitcher.

Wow - at least my reference to Eovoldi got you to do some research.  So relax and just have a beer (or twelve) Wink Wink
