APPARENTLY ROGER WROTE UP A COLUMN WITH 8 POTENTIAL TRADES.

    SAW IT ON BLEACHER REPORT

NOT SURE HOW MUCH SUBSTANCE THERE IS TO HIS PROPOSED TRADES.

PERSONALLY, I'D WANT A SUPER YOUNG STUD OF FOR THE Q

AUDREY MEADOWS FROM THE PIRATES SEEMS LIKE AN EXTREMELY GOOD FIT.

TUCKER FROM THE ASTROS WOULD PROBABLY BE MY 2ND CHOICE.

POINT IS, QUINTANA NEEDS TO BE TURNED INTO A TOP NOTCH HITTING PROSPECT, PREFERABLY AN OF

TO HELL WITH QUANTITY AND TO HELL WITH PITCHING.

QUINTANA SHOULD BRING IN SOME STUDLY HITTING THAT HE HIMSELF NEVER HAD THE BENEFIT OF ENJOYING.

So far the only guys traded popped off to Kenny in support of Team Leader Drake LaRoche.

Big trades are rarely made in Spring Training.

The Quintana trade rumors seem to be confined to Sox Facebook pages.

The Sox will not get a BIG HAUL of prospects for Frazier and Melky at the deadline in July.

If the Sox sign the Orioles catcher to a one year deal, the REBUILD is on hold until the trade deadline if the Sox are out of the race. (as usual).

Austin Meadows of the Pirates is a legit prospect although he struggled some in AAA this year (216 BA). But he's only 21  so time is on his side.  Don't know which Tucker you're referring to.  If it's Preston Tucker, Astros would probably part with him easily.  He's 25 and has struggled in his two trials in the majors .  Maybe it's his younger brother Kyle who's 19 and was their #1 pick in the 2015 draft.  He looks like the real deal.  Stros may be reluctant to cough up Kyle Tucker though.   As good as Quintana has been other clubs may have some doubts about whether he'll hold up long-term.   Sox are definitely right in wanting to capitalize on Quintana's trade value now as it probably won't get any higher.  Apparently the Sox's asking price has been too high since he hasn't been dealt yet.  We'll see whether the Sox decide to come down a bit in their demands, but agree they should be looking for hitting prospects.

Did Eaton sound off about LaRoche's kid too ? You never know with this org how much Sale's run-in with Kenny factored into his exit but it made baseball sense to deal him now.  What good is an ace on a team that isn't going anywhere for at least the next two years when you can get good prospects now ?
Especially since Sale has a lot of recent mileage on his arm and could easily ruin his trade value with an injury in 2017 if the Sox held onto him.

Eaton popped off about Drake, too.

Drake was team leader to these mental midgets.

IMO, this was more about a power struggle between the players and Kenny Williams than Drake LaRoche.

You could be right. The Sox still have pieces to trade (allegedly).

UNLESS the Sox trade Quintana, Fraser,et , al .........
The Chicago White Sox stay in WIN NOW mode by staying "competitive"........Need to see the complete rebuild to believe it's really going to happen.

    SERIOUSLY JOHN?!?!?!?!?!?

You give up one of the elite starting pitchers in baseball for 4 kids that will start the year in the minors...

You give up your best all around player, if not your best player period, for 3 more kids that will most likely start the year in the minors...

HOW IN THE BLUE HELL DOES ANY SANE PERSON EXPECT THE WHITE SOX TO BE COMPETITIVE IN 2017?!?!?!??!

    Quintana is still here because
    A)  the White Sox want somebody to over pay
    B)  He is young enough and cheap enough to be apart of the movement if the trade market doesn't develop

Frazier and company are still here because
    A)  MLB ready replacements are not currently on the 40 man roster
    B)  They want a legit prospect, not just a bag of balls

PS, the KARK puts Nate Jones on the block

I agree with John to a point.

    The popoffs have been moved.

Let's see what happens with Quintana.

    I also agree with Kark.

There has NEVER been a market for Frazier or Melky Cabrera this Winter.

Other teams have scouts and can crunch numbers.

Other teams know the contract situations.  Also, after all of these seasons, especially last year when the Sox signed guys off the street, I do not believe John is referring to WIN NOW anymore as actually WINNING ANYTHING.

The Sox do have to put a damned team on the field in April.

They should not rush any of these kids anymore in a WIN NOW disaster.

Pitching staff is still middle of the road or better-----that alone keeps them competitive.

A free agent signing or 2 and they are "in business".
    Patch and Go-------AGAIN

They SHOULD hold out for a kings ransom on Quintana for all the reasons you have stated.

But DON'T get me wrong.........I am READY for the complete re-build----I'll NEVER be a season reservation holder again------I'll just be the consumer who will dictate to myself when I will go.

Our White Sox just signed Cody Asche to a minor league deal.

Asche is 26, bats lefty, plays 3B & OF and was once considered a top Phillie prospect.

Asche was NON TENDERED after 4 seasons with the Phillies due to a due 240 batting average and poor defense.

So basically, he'a another Avi Garcia up until this point in time.

This signing will make it easier to trade Todd Frazier b4 the start of spring training

If Sale and Eaton's "popping off" had ANYTHING to do with their being traded, then this club is truly fucked up.  Who even thought about LaRoche after April 5th ?
IMO, the Sox have a higher opinion of Quintana than other clubs do which is why he's still here.  As to Melky, a modest power, ex-roider with subpar defense earning $ 14 million isn't going to get any GM racing to the phone to make a deal.  Possibly in June if some contender's LFer goes down that might change.  Frazier isn't overpaid, but nearly all contenders have an equal or better solution at 3b. Again, injuries could change all that in midseason, but since Frazier is a FA in 2018 he'd only be a rental.

Hopefully the Sox will find a way to extract SOME prospect value out of all these guys plus Robertson. Quintana should be able to draw a blue-chipper. But the Duke for Tilson trade is an example of where they can get someone potentially useful for a veteran that has no future with the Sox in 2018-2019.

John, maybe this respite in Arizona has given you time to think and come to your senses.

WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING?

Driving from Lake County and Wisconsin to watch a shit show for years???  Spending more time in a car or on public transportation than at a game.  10 hours of White Sox days with NO DOUBLEHEADERS and TRAFFIC!!!!!  Moving tickets on Stub Hub to get your money out when the parking passes are double and triple the value of a game ticket on the secondary market 98% of the time. Buying group tickets for SFOD when some of those misfits have the balls to ask you why you are charging an extra dollar per seat when if they bought online they would have about $6.00 in fees???

WHAT THE HELL HAS EVER BEEN IN THIS FOR YOU??

    Headaches?  Lack of sleep??

The product on the field usually SUCKS.

    The Chairman does not compete.

I an happy that you have realized this is all BULLSHIT.
