    LINEUP OF THE FUTURE

Post by Deplorable Mark on Tue Dec 06, 2016 4:32 pm

LOOK LIKE THE WHITE SOX LINEUP WILL BE ANCHORED BY THE DP COMBO OF TIM ANDERSON (24) AND YOAN MONCADA (22)

The other kid from the Red Sox, Luis Alexander Basabe projects to be a 5 tool, power and speed guy in RF.  At age 20, probably won't see him until halfway thru 2018 at the earliest.  Joining Basabe in the outfield will be Jameson Fisher, a 22 year old many considered the best pure hitter in the 2016 draft.  CF could be filled from within between some combo of Charlie Tilson (24), Adam Engel (25), Jacob May (25).  While all 3 are too old be be considered blue chippers, all 3 are fast and plus defenders.  All three s/b MLB ready in 2017.

The White Sox should be able to round out the lineup by 2019.  By then, their top rated draft pick Zack Collins should be ready to catch.  The kid looks like a walking machine.  When it comes to pure power, Corey Zangari and Micker Adolfo are two kids that can hit the ball a mile.  Hopefully, the can develop better than Courtney Hawkins.

Last but not least is Trey Michalczewski.  A switch hitting 3B, just 22.  Probably needs another year and half.  Stats don't say much, but the scouts love his tools.

The key to the White Sox future will be whether or not they can get at least 3 studs in the lineup.  By studs, i mean arguable the best at their position.  I look at Moncada and Basabe as well as Fisher to be these studs.  To set up the studs, hopefully on of their CF candidates will develop into a usefull leadoff hitter.  Although Adam Eaton could proably still fill the role if not traded.  Also needed will be Tim Anderson turning into an extra base hitting machine and Zack Collins to be a 300BA/400OBP guy.  Finally, either Zangari or Adolfo or even Hawkins will need to display their impressive power in games, not just batting practice.
