Dodgers need starting pitching and they won't blink at taking on salary.

Think Nationals might be interested in Robertson ? since they lost out on Chapman.

Rosenbloom had great column today. Said Sox probably keep Sale & Quintana since they would need those type of pitchers after a rebuild,
Said that Melky could be valuable as could Frazier- If those 4 go -and maybe Jones, could have nice start on a rebuild.

So far, Sale is proving to be one of those "once in a lifetime" pitchers and he is young enough that he can be someone you rebuild around.

The dilemma of trading Sale is that Sale is supposedly the ace that can dominate in the post season.  However, are they able to accumulate enough talent to get to the post season without trading Sale?

The White Sox are a piss poor hitting club with nothing on the farm that would make a difference in the lineup.

What really sucks is that Abreau is looking more and more like a 1 year wonder.  He's the guy I'd be trading

I would not have a problem with trading Abreau, but totally agree with Aloha-you don't get rid of a Sale. You don't get many -if any -of those kinds of pitchers for years. You have a few years to develop a team and still have some of his best years available

Nationals are worried about Papelbon so Robertson might be interesting to them.  But Robertson hasn't been real solid either this year and with $ 25 mil left on his contract, he won't pull one of their top prospects.  Maybe a B- guy like Austin Voth or Wilmer Difo.  Not too exciting.

Todd Frazier might be interesting to the Indians plus they need backend bullpen help like Zach Duke.  Indians have a ton of hitting talent in the minors (18 guys age 23 or under in the minors with 800+ OPS's).  That could be a place to look.    Mets could also use Frazier's bat.

It's quite possible Robertson and Shields could end up going to the Dodgers.

Yeah, I got the sarcasm. But since no one here is a "believer" I was wondering if this sarcasm was aimed at someone in the diehard SFOD crowd, whom he talks about fairly often here.

TOO BE HONEST, I'D RATHER TAKE YET ANOTHER SHOT AT WIN NOW THAN SALARY DUMP FOR HALF RATE PROSPECTS.

IN FACT, WHY DON'T THE SOX PEDDLE SOME OF THEIR B- PROSPECTS FOR A COUPLE OF MELKEY CABERA TYPES

It shouldn't be a salary dump. Thete are teams out there that will bid fir these guys. Sox should be looking for hood prospects and not worry about getting cash back.
There are enough teams with good minor league systems that are looking for help- dodgers, national, rangers, Ted six and Cleveland come to mindmind

Sox have already depleted their B level prospects in win-now deals for guys like Samardzija, Lawrie, Frazier and Shields in last couple years. How'd that go ?
Agree, saving salary to go into Reinsdorf's pockets isn't a very exciting prospect. But spending a combined $ 50 million on Shields, Robertson, Cabrera and Frazier in 2017 doesn't make much sense either. Unfortunately none of those guys will pull a top 25-30 Baseball America prospect in trade unless you luckily find a dumb win-now GM like Dave Stewart. Or unless the Sox are williing to part with Chris Sale. For guys like Shields, Robertson, Frazier, etc., the haul is typically a raw but talented 19-20 year old who may become a stud but won't be in the majors for a while or 21-23 year old prospect that are BA 50- 100 ranked. Occasionally teams strike gold if their scouting is good enough. Cubs got Rizzo (who was 75-100th ranked prospect) that way.

Paul Konerko probably fits that description

PS, The Sox B level prospect where considered their A level prospects.  Think littlest giant if you aren't sure what I'm saying

Why limit yourself to prospects from the hood?!?!?!?!?

BTW, is Ted 6 related to Malcolm 10?
