It's awful.  Poor girl suffered some complications from a procedure in May that led to pneumonia that she apparently never recovered from.  Have known those girls (she has a twin sister) since they were little tykes.  It's a terrible shame.  Condolences to JoePoe and Laura.

Was that one of the young ladies I met at nomadsfest- one of the Carroll College graduates?
I can't even imagine something like that.
Please convey my sympathies to Joe.

Kevin texted me this morning.  So sorry to hear.  Joe is a real stand-up guy with a family to match.  My deepest sympathies to all of them.  Anyone going in for flowers from all of us.  Put me down for my share if we are.

God Bless Joe and Laura and the sisters.  May He grant them strength, peace and mercy.

I've spent a day trying to think of something to say.
There are NO words to speak other than these:
    May Jamie's memory be eternal.

Joe posted on Facebook today that they are in the process of planning a Celebration of Jamie's life on July 30. I'll keep everyone posted here.

They are also planning a scholarship in Jamie's name at her alma mater, Carroll College. I'll keep everyone posted about that too.

The scholarship is a wonderful gesture.

It will be time to open the wallets.

Forgive the cut and paste, but here is information for Jamie Pomis.

As some of you may know , Jamie Pomis, our eldest daughter (by 4 minutes) passed away Wednesday. She was diagnosed a week ago with pneumonia, and then returned to the MD the following Monday when she was still struggling with her breathing. Wednesday she could barely breathe and 911 took her to All Saints Hospital in Racine. They stabilized her and then a cat scan revealed a large blood clot in each lung. Removing the clots proved futile as more and more formed. After two hours in surgery her big, strong heart gave out. She was 22 years old.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, a scholarship is being arranged at Carroll University in her honor as a lasting memorial. Information is listed below, including the weblink if anyone wants to contribute any amount.
A celebration service and luncheon will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 219 W Maple (Corner of Maple and Douglas, main entrance off Douglas) in Libertyville, IL on July 30th at 11. Luncheon will be served in the Church basement and feature a slide show of Jamie's life.
We are going to decorate the box containing the remains with stickers of her favorite teams and characters. Attendees are encouraged to dress in bright colors, Disney, Dr Who, Carroll University, Blackhawks, White Sox, Star Wars or other fantasy gear.
Here is the information for the scholarship fund for Jamie
Individuals may give on-line as follows:
    · Direct web browser to www.carrollu.edu/give
    · Click ‘Donate Now’ or ‘Recurring Donation’
    · On the next page, Click on the drop down menu and select, “Jamie Pomis ’16 Scholarship Fund”
Individuals may also send gifts directly to Carroll with ‘Jamie Pomis Fund’ in the memo of a check and mail to:
    Carroll University
    Institutional Advancement
    100 N East Ave
    Waukesha, WI 53186
Please let Laura or me know if you have any questions.
