    2 CUBANS AWAY

Post by Guest on Sun Jan 24, 2016 11:15 am

So this is basically last years team, except you traded Frazier for Samardzija.

    ***************************************************************

Its absolutely amazing how much mediocre one can be with a $110+ million payroll

    ***************************************************************

So if Chris Sale is still Sandy Koufax, then hopefully Rodon and Johnson are Drysdale and Olsteen.  And if Quintana can get his 9 wins by all-Star break....

    **************************************************************

So I guess the plan is now to pray for Cabrera and Larouche comebacks and hope that the physically gifted Anderson and Garcia prove that talent trumps stats.

    **************************************************************

The KARK has this uneasy feeling that the White Sox will be in an insurmountable hole by time our taxes are due.

$110 million payroll is actually below mediocre.  League average payroll last year was $ 125 million.  Reinsdorf is in one of the top 3 most populous markets in the country, yet last year's Sox payroll matched the Cincinnati Reds.
As to the "talent v. stats", all stats do is show what a guy is doing with his talent.  Major league pitchers can make mincemeat out of talented dumbasses.

Someone needs to be assigned to watch that the Braves don't try a fast one and distract Gordo while the rest of the team departs on the bus to the airport and leaves him behind.  Some cabby should volunteer to be ready to take him to the airport, if necessary.

Will one of those Cubans be Mark Cuban to replace Reinsdorf?

Then the Sox could have a Jerry Reinsdorf's Day to commemorate all the years of futility that he has brought to the Sox.  Perhaps he can give a speech calling all the fans assholes.  KW can present the Chairman a gift of tulips on an organ (another "job" created).  Maybe the Sox can unveil a statue of Reinsdorf zipping closed his wallet.

    Nothing to worry about, Marty.

The Sox were dead last in local TV ratings last season.

Not too many people plan their Summers or their LIVES, for that matter, around something as ridiculous as Chairman's baseball investment.

There aren't too many fans left to be called assholes.

They should have ASSHOLE DAY where Chairman greets each and every Fan individually.  That may sell the Section 8 Welfare Ballpark out.

35 years of this.  Meanwhile Wrigley Field is a construction site again this Winter.
White Sox FANBOYS have to FORCE THEMSELVES to be FANBOYS.  There is no other explanation.  And, FOR WHAT?

There are no CASUAL White Sox FANS.

Sox Fanbase is dwindling.  Cheerleaders can wear their blinders and dream of the 1950s.

Unless the team is competitive, the only reason to pay any attention at all is to hear what may come out of the mouth of Hawk Harrelson.

Yeah, and it's a bit hard to fathom why.  Reinsdorf knows this half-ass competing every year is just chipping away at whatever base is still left.  He probably figures between keeping payroll below league average, using all his cost breaks from the State and City and then raking in revenues from MLB media contracts he can eek out enough profits every year.  And that franchise value will go up because ALL teams goes up even if the Sox's is only 50-60% of the Cubs' value.
But for a guy who has all the money he needs, what kind of satisfaction does squeezing out profits off a perpetually bad team give him ? He used to be one of the most respected owners in baseball.  Now I bet other MLB owners view him as a schlepper who's just a step away from Assisted Living.  Reinsdorf should still be smart enough to see that.  WTF kind of real pride does he have left ?

Reinsdorf is like the owner in Major League. The fewer fans that come into the ball park, the greater his tax write off.

Reinsdorf is Bill Wirtz in his old age..  Plug some gaping hole or two every season, or attempt to.

Now the Hawks are operated like a well oiled machine.  The Ricketts-Epstein-Hoyer plan is ready to take off with the Cubs.

The joke is on the remaining White Sox Fans who want to BELIEVE!!!

I would hazard a guess that the Sox home Spring Training games have all kinds of seats available.

The PREZ of the Fanboys was 100% correct.  Reinsdorf was stupid to move Spring Training to Arizona where the Sox could play second fiddle to the Cubs starting in February, rather than April.
