    Tuesday's the day!

Post by MGJOHNSON on Sun Nov 29, 2015 3:55 pm

Wednesday may still be "Prince Spaghetti Day" on the south end of Boston (probably more like "Collard Greens and Black-Eyed Peas Day" nowadays), but next Tuesday in the big day for White Sox fanboys everywhere.  It's Non-tender Day!  Who will be the additions by subtractions this year?  How many familar stiffs will we not have to suffer thru watching in White Sox garb in 2016?  What new stiffs may possibly be taking their place?  Does anybody really care? scratch

Non Tendered Day does not have the importance this season.  Last season it was HUGE as Fanboys waited for the Angels to non tender Gordon Beckham.

Gordon came back and the rest is history.

THE PILE OF CRAP WOUND UP ON THE BENCH!!!!

This year good old Gordon is a FREE AGENT!!!

True enough.  He barely got his sorry ass off the bench in July, August and September as the WIN NOW White Sox battled for LAST PLACE!!!

Sox signed Beckham as a platoon starter at 3b, an all-purpose utility guy and even a possible
fallback starter at 2b.  Hahn mentioned the "possible starter" blather shortly after Beckham
inked his deal. Of course when Gordo couldn't even hit his weight in spring training that sort of
    talk died down.
As noted before, the signing was complete nonsense from a baseball standpoint.  Beckham was
no platoon hitter v. LHers with a lifetime 680 OPS against them.   Sox already had signed Bonafacio
who could play every spot Beckham could. This was a stupid PR stunt for the handful of Sox fans who
still thought Beckham might "turn the corner" at some point.
After being burned by this stiff for 6 straight years, I doubt that even the Sox management is
stupid enough to believe he can contribute anything worth a shit anymore.

Gordon broke down a long way from a corner.  He had a good rookie season and never adjusted.  Darrin Jackson has called him a head case on air for the last two seasons.

Any fan hoping for years that he was going to turn the corner does not pay attention to what happens on the field.  Creating bullshit scenarios is a ridiculous waste of time.  WHAT IS HAPPENING IS HAPPENING.

BECKHAM MAKES FOR AN EXCELLENT INSURANCE POLICY DOWN IN CHARLOTTE

HE CAN BE LIKE ALBERT OR BILLY GUNN OR SIR WILLIAM REGAL GOING DOWN TO NXT

BECKHAM CAN HELP THE KIDS LEARN THE WHITE SOX WAY.

A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND THE ABILITY TO MENTOR CAN BE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS BEING ABLE TO HIT, FIELD AND CHEW BUBBLE GUM AT THE SAME TIME

It looks like I jumped the gun.  Tomorrow is Non-tender Day.  I don't know how I could have messed up such an important day on the White Sox calendar, but I did.

I HOPE THIS BOARD REALIZES THAT THE LAST TWO TIMES THE USA ELECTED A NEW PRESIDENT, THE WHITE SOX WON THE DIVISION THAT YEAR.

I WILL LEAVE THE DISCUSSION ON WHO THAT SHOULD BE TO BLAGO'S CELL, BECAUSE THE KARK WOULD NEVER TRUMP BASEBALL DISCUSSION WITH POLITICS.

BUT NOT EVEN THE SCHMUCK FROM ST CHUCK DELIBERATELY DISAGREE THAT A NEW PRESIDENT WILL BE ELECTED IN 2016.

YET ONE MORE REASON TO BELIEVE IN OUR WHITE SOX
