    Gordon files for Free Agency!!!

Post by Hawk Harrelson on Tue Nov 03, 2015 7:32 am

Let the bidding begin for this marvelous defender who "looks like a ballplayer"!!!

Perhaps some team will take Harvey's sage advice and move him to Left Field where he can concentrate on POWER!!!

It must be quite the experience to attend 40 Sox games per season and not know WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE WATCHING!!!!

I'll offer him $10 a week to cut my grass in the summer if nothing else comes up for him.

Like last year, Gordon will be waiting for the right offer with a team that shows it's committed to winning before he makes his decision.

Let me be the first to say, the Sox will re-sign him, just like the Pimp

I agree. It's disturbing how this fucked up "family" of a baseball franchise just can't let anyone go and be done with them.

I swear to God, if they re-sign Beckham, I am holding you personally responsible.

The Cardinals may be in Beckham's future.  Peter Kozma has not cut it for them and the fans cannot understand why they keep him.  He seems to be a Matheny favorite, but Mozeliak finally cut him loose.  I like Greg Garcia for Kozma's spot, but they do not seem to.  Beckett may give them the backup they need at all infield positions with no worry about them installing him as a regular.  With Wong at 2B, Peralta at SS and Matt Carpenter at 3B, he might not see the field a lot, but he would be on a winner.  If Soto can resign himself to being a backup C, he might be a Cards target to backup Yadi Molina.  They do not seem to like Tony Cruz, but he has always seemed to produce when I have seen him forced to play.  The Cards do not NEED either one, but I would not be surprised they each get a small offer.

Couldn't resist this one, Jim.  "Beckett" was a great movie back in the 60's starring Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole.  It was about a medieval English King and his old friend, Thomas Beckett, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
As to Beckham, he probably will find work on a club that can afford to devote a spot to a late inning defensive replacement. Could be the Cardinals.
