    Furcal and Weeks

Post by Guest on Mon Feb 02, 2015 4:52 pm

See these two are still avialable.

No, the poster formerly known as KARK isn't jumping the Beckham ship.

What this board doesn't undersand stand is the KARK is a visionary who believes in doing what is best for business.

Signing Beckham with the intention of giving 500AB a 2B is almost as silly as this absolutely retarded notion tha Emilo Bonaduce is a statistically better player.

But those type of arguments plave you in a trap. Again, the KAK is a visionary that does what is best for business.

Nd just what is best for business? Making sure you have a plan B in case plan A fail. THen making sure you have a plan C in case B fails.

Ladies and Gentlemen, dare I sugeest the Sox sign Furcal if healthy and Weeks if he ain't as the plan C.

And for the millinth time, a strong bench matters. A 5 man bench is better than a 7 man pen. Platooning does work. And you have to look at the entire picture, not just 1.8 of it

Why this constant debate about a 5 man bench ?  No one here is disagreeing.  I actually think a bench full of different specialists (power, defense, speed) might be more useful than a 7th guy in the 'pen.  But  nowadays teams run through pitchers like shit through a goose and want a constant supply of fresh arms.   That's City Hall.  So yours is a wheel-spinning argument.
Sox need a RHed bat with some pop that can play some OF, 3b and DH.  I agree Weeks might fill that billl.  His power has been better in the past although he seemed to bounce back some this past year.  No reason to pursue Furcal.. Jesus, don't the Sox have enough 2bmen between Bonifacio, Beckham, Sanchez, Johnson?   Furcal doesn't have much left between age and injuries anyhow.

As to Bonifacio v. Beckham, Sox shouldn't be happy giving either one of them 500 ab's.   Maybe Boni goes 2 months, then goes into the crapper, Gordo goes in for his usual decent month, then swan dive and it goes back and forth.   Bonafacio had a better year in 2014 (650 v. 618 OPS) plus he can run the bases.   Probably why he got the $ 4mil deal and Beckham $ 2mil.  But hving a stockpile of subpar 2bmen is not the answer to making that spot decent.

Roger, when it comes to spinning wheels, nobody does so more than you. You are the King of term paper sized posts. The only thing missing is the ootnotes for all your statistical research

Kark, I'll keep this short and sweet.  Take your pea-brained head and shove it up your 135 inch asshole.
