    From Rotoworld.com:

"Tyler Flowers homered in the ninth and 12th innings to propel the White Sox past the A's 5-4 on Monday. Flowers' game-tying homer came with two out and two strikes in the ninth. He won it by getting ahold of a hanging curve from Jesse Chavez in the 12th. Flowers also singled in the contest, leaving him 7-for-15 with four homers this month. He was as bad of a hitter as there was in baseball during May and June, but he's been doing a really nice job with a .306 average and nine homers since the All-Star break."

Maybe it is the glasses.  I just hope that Flowers is not imitating Beckham by alternating between hot and cold.

You know damn good and well that's EXACTLY what he's doing. Like most White Sox players, the guy's a major stiff with brief periods of competence so that people can be led into thinking that he's finally got it figured out. About the time you start feeling good about him he goes 0 for the month.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of... Flowers was sizzling hot at the beginning of the season and then went ice cold.  He got glasses somewhere around the All-Star break, so he wasn't wearing them in the spring when he was hot.  He might be a Beckham with no hair.

That is exactly what Flowers is,but I think the Sox feel they can live with him for another couple of years. There is no one out there that they can get that is any better. The guy to watch is Brett Austin, he was their 4th round draft pick and Carlos Rodon's catcher at NC State. Austin is a switch hitter with good receiving skills, and held his own with the bat in A ball.

Flowers' April "success" was phony.  90% of his hits were singles, as he luckily found holes everywhere.  But he didn't have any "singles hitter" skills (speed, line drive stroke, good batting eye, etc) to keep it up. At least his latest run is more legit -  50% of hits are for extra bases since AS break.  He has shown power in his past, so this is more realistic.
On the flip side, he's still the same strikeout machine - he K's at even a higher rate than Dunn.  So he'll always struggle to hit even .250 (all too familiar story for Sox hitters). He's worked his way up to 19th in overall value of Catchers in majors, which is about as good as it's going to get with him, IMO.  Bottom line is he's below average -  not much of an asset, but not a big liability.  With other spots to cover next couple years, Flowers will likely be the interim solution until someone better
    materializes.
