Team by team spending on the 2014 amateur draft

    Marlins                      13,112,900
    WHITE SOX                10,460,600
    Blue Jays                     9,308,700
    cubs                            9,783,000
    Royals                         9,888,700

The White Sox, which finished second in total spending and bonus pool spending, paid the highest tax at $356,175. Chicago's draft was the most expensive in franchise history, after giving No 3 overall pick Carlos Rodon the largest bonus in the draft at $6.58 million. Under the previous CBA from 2007-11, the Sox averaged $3.665 million per draft, the least of any team and only 57% of the average of all teams

Rather throw $$$$ at young talent than middle of the road goofs like Rios and Peavy and absolute bums like Oaf Dunn in Win Now schemes that don't win.
If the Sox don't contend fast enough for nutso Fanboys, too bad.
