AAA Charlotte outfielder Michael Taylor now batting .375 after going 2 for 4 today.

Is he the answer to all the White Sox woes?  No

    Could he possibly help?  Maybe

I ran into him about three years ago at a baseball game.  I think he told me that he was harvesting mesquite beans.  I haven't seen or heard from him since.  John might know.

Exactly what is Taylor supposed to "Help"?

    This is OVER, Period.

Maybe if the Sox unload both Viciedo and DeAza this month you may see him.

Is it really some sort of thrill to watch THIS team win some games?

Who cares?  Hawk is far more entertaining when they are LOSING!!

    LOSE.

Sign the draft pick and get another top draft pick next season.

    This team sucks.
Nobody going to see Abreu even.

Taylor is not starter material but he's a more cost effective solution as 4th OFer next year than DeAza.

Did it before.  I know what is coming.  Craving a damned cigar in the shower in the morning after 2 cups of coffee.  I remember like yesterday being in a casino partying one week after I quit.  I got through that night.  Downhill from there.  Still rough, though.

Good luck with the smoking thing Bobby. Almost 38 years of over two packs a day and come October 3rd it'll be 4 years smoke free....cold turkey. If I can do it anybody can do it.

I quit several times, and then failed, until I finally had success.  Cold turkey is the only way to go.  Also, I had to quit drinking coffee for about 3 months at the same time that I quit smoking.  A cup of coffee would act as a trigger to increase the craving for a cigarette.  It's not as hard as you may think to quit both at the same time.  You just might find yourself drinking more Coke or Pepsi or tea or eating chocolate bars to quench any craving for the caffeine that you are giving up in the coffee.  All I can say is that it worked for me as I'm sitting here now having a cup of coffee without craving nicotine.

Having one in the shower would probably most certainly help you to quit, unless you have found a way to keep the sucker lit.

I quite cold turkey also, but I was set up.  Spring of '83, my little daughter just turned four came upstairs and said, "Daddy, don't smoke".  I guess my heart must have melted, because it is amazing that is all that it took.  I stopped then and never had another.

Some years later, my wife admitted she put my little girl up to it.  Yet my wife never had really urged me to quit.  Probably that is why it meant so much for my little girl to ask.

Got to ask this - how many cigars were you having a day ?  Didn't think they are as addictive or harmful as cigarettes, because you don't inhale cigar smoke.  Was there a reason you quit ?  Still enjoy cigars myself but on a limited basis - 3 or 4 times a week, although can get carried away on the golf course at times.
